Dorchester based Casterbridge Speakers has been hailed as one of the top speaking clubs in the UK. One of just 20 clubs to achieve this honour in 2013 President, Dave Smith, was almost lost for words at the clubs success but managed pull a few together to thank everyone for their positive, pro-active support that saw both membership grow and the Club achieve recognition for their work in the region.

Casterbridge Toastmasters MembersSteve Graham, Area Governor for Toastmasters International which Casterbridge speakers is a member said “This is an amazing achievement for a club which has only been chartered two years”

Flushed with success the Club is holding an open evening on the 17th July 2013 at the Wessex Hotel in Dorchester between 7.15 and 9.45 where anyone interested in improving their speaking skills can just turn-up and see what Toastmasters is all about.  You can find out more by contacting our new President, Caroline Brewer on brewer_cj@msn.com or by telephone on: 07774 649549

Everyone is welcome, from those thinking about that wedding speech through to the recently promoted or self employed that need to improve their communication skills.  Retired? – there is no better way to keep those grey cells churning than to prepare, practice and present a speech to an attentive audience that is there to support you and your adrenalin rush.

As with any new interest confidence and ability grows quickest in a mutually supportive and positive learning environment.  At Casterbridge you learn to speak in a structured way as well as developing skills that allow you to speak spontaneously on a whole range of subjects.

The Casterbridge Speakers Club members have years of experience in helping people to improve their public speaking, communication and leadership skills, all in a friendly and supportive environment.  If you’re nervous about attending we’d love to see you bring along a friend.

Thinking of giving it a try?  The Club open evening is on the 17th July 2013 at the Wessex Royale Hotel, Dorchester between 7:15pm and 9:45pm.
